db[0][10]="A fairly common and wide spread shrub up to 1m tall, which grows especially fast after a good rainy season. Its leaves are light green with two hooked thorns at the base of the leaves. Very attractive, red flowers about 1,5cm long appear from May to the beginning of August; in 1997 flowers could still be observed in early September. August is the month when the leaves usually start to become yellow and fall down. The fruits are about 1 - 2cm in diameter and turn from green to almost black when ripe from September onwards. The shrub has the potential for gardens due to its attractive and late flowering habit. However, it does seem to be either frost sensitive or has individual shoots being biennial and getting dry after the second year, and so the shrub would have to be cut regularly.";
