db[0][10]="A fairly common, medium tree of 5 to 8m height which grows on deep sand. It can be distinguished from other <i>Combretum</i> species by its flaking bark, especially easily seen on young branches. The leaves are more oblong and not as ovate as those of <i>C. collinum</i>. The flowers are greenish yellow, occurring in axillary spikes and have an intensive sweet scent, so that they can be smelled from a distance of 5-10m. They usually appear while the last old leaves are still on the tree from August to October and are - together with <i>Acacia erioloba</i> - the first flowering trees after winter.";
