db[0][10]="A rare tree up to 7m tall which grows only locally on deep sand. It flowers in creamy white panicles in January and February and the fruits are ripe from May onwards. The fruit is a brown velvety, easily breakable pod which usually bears one ovate, reddish brown seed (2cm long and 1cm wide), covered by soft, velvety fruit flesh.";
db[0][11]="Use: This tree is a real multi-purpose tree! The dead and dry wood is a long lasting fuel wood and is also used for making hunting knives. The young leaves as well as the fruits are edible. The raw leaves are favoured by children for their sour and refreshing taste. Adults like to eat them salted and even old people with bad teeth mash the leaves together with salt and eat them. The fruits can be eaten in two different ways. After removing the pod, the fruits are either soaked for 5 min. in a little bit of cold water. Then the resulting porridge-like mixture is stirred to remove the seed from the flesh, and the fruit porridge is eaten raw. The seed is not edible. Alternatively, the flesh is just eaten after the seed is removed, without being soaked. The taste of the fruit is sweet and fruity.

Medical use: The inner bark provides a remedy for diarrhea. Pieces of the inner bark are put into a pot with water which is then heated up to just before boiling. It is left to soak for another 5 min. and then it is ready for drinking. It is also given to children in weaker doses. Adults who have severe diarrhea drink 3 to 4 cups per day of the infusion until they feel better.";
