For wounds there are two different preparations. For the first one, the skin of the fresh roots is finely scraped away and the scraped skin in placed onto the wound. Or secondly the scraped skin is dried, pounded to a powder and the wound is covered with this powder. This is suitable for all kind of wounds. Against tooth ache the roots are dried and pounded to a powder. The powder is rubbed into small skin cuts next to the area of the sore tooth. At the same time, fresh roots are boiled and the sore tooth is rinsed with this infusion. The infusion must not be swallowed as it is thought to be poisonous. In case of a sore bruise the area is cut with small skin cuts and root powder is rubbed into these cuts. This helps to clear the blood from under the skin. The roots also provide a medicine for treating fever for children and adults. The roots are either just soaked in cold water or heated until the water boils and removed. The infusion is drunk.";
